Does anyone have experience with pool Ozonators? Im talking about the device that feeds ozone in your pool that looks like an stereo amp that has a flow-through tube that continuously adds ozone. A couple of my neighbors have them (were standard with the pool) and of course, they don't know anything about them. Is this a gimmick or is it worth the cost?
Thanks in advance!

Ozone is normally only worth using when you have lots of people swimming, for example in a commercial pool. Chlorine alone is more than sufficient in an outdoor residential pool, leaving hardly anything for the ozone to do.

Ozone is great in a pool- provided you have lots of money to spend. There is a lot of great commercial ozone units but with the cost of air dryers refrigeration, gas injection lines and destruction chambers, it would be clear to suggest that anything marketed toward retail is just theoretical.

Remember that you will still need to balance pH as well so I would put by dollars into a good pH controller and keep it simple.

The cost of automating pH control may not be cost effective for you. When you test on a regular basis you can make small adjustments to pH as needed and may find the pH stays fairly stable when you keep the water balanced.
