What to do with my Tri Chlor pucks?

Hi,
Amazing board!! You have saved me hundreds of $$$ and it was so easy after the first few weeks. Now, what can I do with these stupid tri-chlor pucks? I bought them before Pool School and haven't used them mainly due to my CYA being pretty high all season. In the 90's then 70's and now about 60. Should I throw them into a floater when I close the pool this week or throw them out? I plan on starting the shock tonight for a Thursday close.
Thanks!!
Joan

Thanks! I will store for next summer. One more question. I have 10 bags of Bio Guard Maintain Burnout 35 Lithium Hypochlorite. Here's my numbers for a closing Thursday:

Chlorine 4.5
Free chlorine 0
Alkalinity 60 (Too low for closing?)
Temperature 68
Ph 7.5-7.8
CYA 45
Calcium 220

Can I use this stuff for my shock to close? Thanks!!!

Joan

Yes, you can use the lithium hypo for shocking.

I suggest you bump the TA up to around 70 or 80, using baking soda.

Use the PoolCalculator.com to determine effects of increasing TA and any adjustments possibly needed for pH prior to closing.
