in this thread (member23638-topics.html) i talked about coming back from vacation and my regular pump was not working (capacitor died). Well, it also had a side-effect. now that i got that pump running fine, i tried to start my polaris booster pump (PB4) today.
The booster pump starts, water is flowing fine, and the polaris went around the pool to do his work gathering leaves. However, the pump is making a ton of noise. it is a screeching like sound that is constant and did not let go in the 30 minutes i had polaris running.
I turned it off after that to prevent further damage. Any ideas on what might be wrong? COuld it be that something in the impeller melted because (and this is a fact) polaris run for a few days without water pressure coming from the regular pump?
