Can I use thiosulfate to neutralize bromine?

I know I can use thiosulfate or sodium sulfite to neutralize chlorine, but can I use them to neutralize bromine?

If not, what can I do to lower the bromine level?

I have never tried it but both are supposed to work with bromine as well as chlorine.

both sodium thiosulfate and sodium sulfite are reducing agents so they should both redude either chlorine or bromine (both oxidizing agents) to their respective chloride or bromide.
