Can we save on reagents?

I'm running low on pH indicator.
Till I get a new one I thought about using a smaller water smaple with fewer drops.
The standard volume is 44cc with 5 drops.
Running at 40% will be 17.6cc with 2 drops.
I assume that my measuring error will be bigger, just don't know how much.
I can measure the volume of the water sample correctly within 0.1cc.
Comparing the colors is also not an issue since I can turn the comperator container upside down if needed.
Can anyone comment about the excepted pH measuring error?
Thanks,
Avi.

I don't think it works that way on pH. It isn't based on a dilution factor, and then you have the pH of the dilution water...if you run it that way. Still, cutting it down won't give you what you are looking for. Sorry...but welcome to the Forum!
