Would food grade DE flour work in sand filter?

Hi,
I have been adding DE to my sand filter to clean the fine silt that the sand does not catch.
I ran out of DE and the pool stores around he don't carry it.

I found some food grade DE that looks like the powder I was using. Does anybody know if this will
work? I can have it shipped I just need to know if it would work. Seems they use it for livestock.

It is different. Stick to pool DE.

That would be my first choice, but I can't find it in stores or on line in Canada.
I don't think anybody uses DE filters around here anymore.
I look at getting a bag ship from U.S.A but it was going to be over $100.00
