Pool shading...

Hello!

I want to shade my pool and have been considering putting up a wooden canopy like this http://www.dreamstime.com/royalty-free- ... ge10699296 or http://trigon-sheehan.com/wp-content/up ... -patio.jpg over my pool.

Do any of you have a better idea that will serve both aesthetics and functionality equally? I totally abhor the retractable enclosures (they look like some sort of chemical lab).

ShadeSails are attractive, inexpensive, moveable, and block most of the sun's heat and UV. You might look into them...

Thanks, Tom. I'll definitely look into those.

But do any of you think building a shade over the pool (please refer to the links in initial post for images) poses any kind of problem? Snow is not an issue as it never snows in the city I live in.
