Salt water pool & auto cover ??'s

Hello,
We're putting in an inground pool and I have some questions.
We orginally wanted a salt water pool & an auto cover. After having an above ground pool for several years & always stuggling with covering/uncovering it we thought an auto cover looked like a dream. Plus without a fence (we live in the country) we thought the auto cover would also be safer in addition to keeping debris out of it. Recently we were told by a contractor that you shouldn't have a salt pool with an auto cover for variuios reasons. He also said the auto covers don't last long & very troublesome. ugh ~
Any advice?

Auto covers with aluminum rails can experience corrosion from a salt system, due to the increased conductivity from the salt. There are plastic auto covers. Make sure your pool is bonded (electronically) properly.
