Pool vacuum has no suction

Hello everyone
What a wonderful website this is and so nice to have access to your thoughts and suggestions

I shocked my pool last night and went to vacuum this morning and the vacuum has no suction
The filter works, the backwash and rinse all work but when I put the hose in the skimmer basket area there is no suction. I even tried a different hose thinking it might be a leak in the hose

Any help would be certainly appreciated

Hi, Bev,

Welcome to the forum :lol: Can you feel suction by placing your hand over the hole in the bottom of the skimmer? If so, then you have narrowed down the problem so that it is somewhere between that point and the suction head.

If you hook up the vacuum and you then see bubbles in the pump strainer basket, you are sucking air, so you know the issue is somewhere along the hose line that is above the water.
