What to Look For When Buying Used Filter

My 23 year old pool is still in great condition. The Hayward sand filter is the original filter and still works well after all these years. Sooner rather than later it will probably need replacement. I have an opportunity to buy a used 2 year old filter - same make and model -for a very good price. What should I look for or pay close attenton to when I go to see this unit? Thanks.

The biggest potential problem would come if they moved the filter with the sand still in it. There's a good possibility that the laterals or center pipe gets damaged if it's moved with the sand in it.

Also check those threads on the enclosure to make sure they are not stripped.
