I am getting ready to install an in wall skimmer in my intex pool. Quality and performance wise would you go with a Pentair or Hayward or are they both the same the Pentair is cheaper.
IMHO - they're all the same. You want one that you can readily replace the weir because that's the biggest issue with skimmer performance. (have you thought about getting an 'aquadoor' , it's a helpful feature for the winter but make sure it matches up with your screw holes. )
Is the Aquadoor the cover that fits over a skimmer for winter if so yes i have looked at them and plan on getting one before winter. I guess i will go with the Pentair there replacement weirs should be easy to find.
I find Pentair weirs (the circular tube-shaped ones) WAY better than Hayward's door-type weirs. Hayward's weirs break too easily and often the foam stuff that they use in it eventually disintegrates into nothingness, rendering your weir useless.
