Give us a little more info. How long has the water been in the pool? What was the source of the water (well/city) Was there an algae issue before?
Also, what kind of pool do you have? is is a salt pool? Inground, AGP? Vinyl, Gunite?
Please do the overnight FC loss test. Once the sun is down, check your FC and record the value. Then, in the morning, before any sunlight hits the water, check your FC again. If your FC has gone down more than 1 ppm overnight, you need to shock your pool.
