I recently posted with a black algae problem and wondered if I should blow up the pool.
I followed the advice on this board and have been running my TC levels around 15 to 18 with CYA levels around 45 for the last 4 to 5 days..
A lot of the spots appear to have disappeared. However, all the chlorine has put a fine layer of silt looking stuff on the bottom which hides the spots. I constantly uncover them with a SS brush and it is looking better.
However, it looks like there are holes in the plaster where the algae used to be. Are my eyes deceiving me or is the stuff that bad?
