Need to lower TA and raise CYA

I have a 8500 gal. salt water pool. I tested about an hour ago. These are my numbers.

FC 3
PH 7.8
TA 120
CH 160
CYA 50

I believe I need to lower my TA to 60-80 and raise my CYA to 70-80. Just making sure that this is correct. I am a new pool owner and just wanted to double check that I am doing this right.

Yes, but you shouldn't be in a hurry to do either one.

Lower your pH down to around 7.2 using muriatic....your TA will come down with it. Then, monitor pH and, if it keeps rising, read Pool School on how to permanently lower your TA.

50 CYA isn't bad, so I would CAREFULLY bring it up to around 60-70 when you get a chance. You may have to dial back your swg a little.
