I installed the Jandy Aquapure Ei system last week.
Added about 600 lbs of pool salt, took awhile for the low salt indicator to go away, but it did.

I did use 4 gal liquid chlorine to shock. Got everything balanced.

Chlorine level last three days in 100+ temp.

Going to try the BBB.

Make sure you check CYA level. As a general rule of thumb add 1/2 # Stabilizer per bag of salt. If you're not getting a chlorine reading after all that shock, chances are you CYA is low.

PS, keep in mind liquid chlorine shock has a pH of 12.0 Keep an eye on your pH since it will rise if you use liquid shock.

A better general rule is to read your manual and see the stabilizer level required, then measure and add the amount called for. Retest levels in a week or two.

Test and adjust pH to 7.2 before shocking. Don't test pH when FC is above 10, values will be off.

Better yet is to read the Pool School article on swg's and follow that, and use the Pool Calc to figure exactly how much to add. You'll also need a good test to know how much is already in there. If you've added anything but liquid chlorine, chances are there's some in there.

Not really a problem. It rises when you add it but it lowers the pH as it gets used up so using liquid chlorine is basically a pH neutral event.
