SWG run time advice needed

What FC value should I expect to see in the evening?

I finally started using the SWG today after manually adjusting the FC
all week with clorox.

This morning I added 39oz 6% clorox and ran the SWG during
the afternoon. I tested the water every couple of hours.

Starting values (11AM) AFTER adding clorox:
FC 4.0
CC 0.5
TC 4.5
CYA 70

Ending values (7:30PM) after SWG ran for 4 hours:
FC 4.5
CC 0.0
TC 4.5
CYA 70

The values held steady with all day direct sunlight and temps
in high 90's...

Do these values reflect a working SWG then? It appears to me
they do...

The SWG is still running...the manual says with the temperature
and size of the pool, to maintain FC, I'd have to run the SWG
for 9 hours a day...so should I keep it running another 5 hours
tonight?

Will FC creep up if I do?

Thank you for your help...

Every pool is different, so the only way you can find the correct run time is by experimenting. With CYA at 70, you want the early evening FC level to be 3 or higher, preferably a little above 3 to give you some safety margin.

Yes, it does look like your SWG is working. Yes, if you leave it on tonight the FC level should come up.
