how long till salt stabalizes

i had the pool filled monday
put salt in monday
tuesday added some more to bring from 2600 to 3100 ppm as per the display on the aquarite unit

wed 3100
last night started it up when i got home 3100
turned it off this morning befor work it was higher 3700
i did not add any salt

i will check when i get home to see if maybe it was a fluke

but how long does it take for the salt to stabalize so i can get a good reading?

does water temp play a role in that?
water temp has been 80*

last night and this morning it was 78*

It can easily take 24 hours, occasionally as much as 48 hours, with the pump running before the salt level stabilizes after a salt addition.

right i thought 24 hours, which would be tuesday night
which is when i added more salt which would put me a wed night

so thurs night would be 48 hours
but this morning would be 10 more hours and it went up

ill check when i get home from work, hopefully idont have another diff number

Make sure both your skimmer and bottom main drains are opened. If it's just drawing from the skimmer, the heavier salted water will tend to linger around the bottom of the pool.
