with a CYA level of 75 and an FC level of 14 (SWG off and waiting for FC to come down in sun light), when would you consider swimming safe if not submerging your head? i was thinking of taking a dip if it gets down to FC 10 by this evening...

It should be ok, might be rough on hair and suits. But that is almost half of your shock value for your CYA. IMHO
From reading on here, it is safe to swim up to shock level based off of your CYA level.
that's good news. it's blazing hot in NYC today and this FC drop is taking it's sweet time. i need to take at least a 30 minute dip...
reporting back. i spent about an hour in the pool and my skin did NOT melt off. success.
