Friends of ours are putting up a pool. we took the pool apart and brought it back to their home. We brought back the old liner knowing we couldnt reuse it so they did order a new 1. My question is...Can they cut the sides at the bottom seam and use it under the new liner as add protection underneath? The old liner looks to be 20 or 25ML...

Sure, you can use a sheet of old liner under the new liner. It won't do a whole lot but it will soften things a little and help protect against punctures from below.
I've alway's wonder'd..Have heard conflicting report's..But,I have a friend who does it on his pool's&swear's on it....UMMMMM!!!!other's will post..
keeping punctures down was their main reason for using it under there, instead of buyin a gorilla pad. We will see how it works gonna cut it this afternoon and lay it under b4 we put the bottom ring down and blocks under the brackets. Also we thought about putting the walls and top rail in today as the new liner will be here tomorrow and plan on installing it Wednesday, Will the walls and rail be pretty sturdy with no liner or water in it incase of a thunderstorm? They are putting in a beaded liner so install will be easy with it all put together.
Not very sturdy without the water.make sure you not going to have any bad storm's..A good wind could poss. mess the rail's&wall up
