Intex SWG copper question

I've read that people disconnect the copper generator on the Intex SWG...how and why? I've read that copper can turn hair green. My daughter has white (very blonde) hair and I'm worried that her hair will turn green. Is the copper necessary-what does it do? Thanks in advance for your reply!!

How is easy. Look at the unit and find the piece with the copper bars and unplug the cord from it.

Why, Just as you said, it stains when it gets too high and the unit doesn't regulate it.

The copper isn't needed. You're going to keep chlorine in there anyway so you don't need anything else.
