I just purchased this filter and wondering if my 1 hp pump will work ok as far as the gpm goes. I have read a lot about the oversizing issue.

Pool specs: 13000 gallons 2" plumbing throughout, one suction line for vacuum, 1 main drain, 1 skimmer.


pool pump pentair whisperfow originally 1 1/2 hp kept housing changed motor and impeller new motor 1 hp ao smith.


what do u think my current gpm is, if my current pump goes say 10 over the max of the filter is that ok?

I have the same filter with a 1hp hayward super pump. I have been very pleased, it is a good set up for our pool. I hope you have as good of results as we have!

We need to know the Hp and the SF of the motor.
We also need to know the filter pressure when running.
And the approx lengths to and from the pool.

Also, is that a 2-speed motor?

sf 1.25 1hp single speed. I have 4 returns and the pump is 20 ft from pool

Without knowing the filter pressure I'd guess that you're probably flowing about 50 to 60 gpm.
