First, the test Taylor Test kit results for today:
pH - 8.0
TA - 180
FC - 6.0
CC - 0
CYA - 55
15 x 30 above ground, 13,500 gals.
I took a quick dip tonight, then tested FC (1.5), I added liquid chlorine and had dinner. While eating I noticed my skin was getting dry and itchy. I mentioned this to my wife, and she said that our sons hair seems to be 'dry' lately after swimming also.
I just tested the water again and got the above results.
The pH has been slowly rising since 5/24 from 7.4 to 8.0 today. I only add bleach (10 to 12.5%) to keep the FC around 4-5.
I'm going to bring down the TA and pH this weekend with aeration and Muratic Acid.
The CYA at 55 is a little surprising, since I've tested this several times in the past month, and each time the results were 40.
Which of these could be causing the dry skin/hair problems?
