reading the test kit

I just tested my pool for the 1st time, my test kit says that the CL is 1.5 and the PH is 7.6 but according to the chart on this website my CL should be 3-7. Do I need to buy a different test kit? Or am I reading this wrong?

Could you post a full set of water test results?

The correct FC level depends on your CYA level. You didn't post a CYA level, so it is impossible to know what your FC level should be.

There are various chlorine test kits. We recommend getting a FAS-DPD chlorine test. It will measure FC and CC levels from 0 to 50 by 0.5s. Most of the other test kits max out at 3, or 5, or sometimes 10. What kind of chlorine test do you have right now?
