what causes skimmer basket to crack several times a year? could it be my pump being too big? my pump is 1.5 h.p. the baskets break along the top rim everytime.

It is probably due to it becoming obstructed with debris and there not being a path for the water flow around it. You probably need to just clean it more often or turn the flow down on the skimmer(s) a bit.

i use liquid bleach in pool. how do i turn down flow on skimmer?
