Considering reinstalling my AquaTrol on our new-to-me Aqua Leader 18x36x52 pool, but am apprehensive b/c of the inner wall rusting issues it did to my last round pool. I think it was an uncommon occurrence, but am looking for others opinions. Also, if I do use it, I'm considering painting or cold galvanizing the top metal plates, to prevent rusting. I will use SS/galvanized fasteners on the deck and use only plastic seating. Any feedback would be great!

A question that interests me is in how can you tell that the inner wall corrosion you experienced on the last pool was actually caused by "salt" issues vs. just regular water corrosion?

well, good point, however, it's hard to argue the fact that saltwater accelerates corrosion. I suppose either way I was doomed, but it being saltwater happened sooner than later.
