We are having our deck refloored today and thought that all the sawing would be done far away from the pool. However, they will be sawing the outside boards (those that stick out over the deck floor) all at one time to get them even. That will put them sawing about eight feet from the pool and also about eight feet above the pool. If this treated lumber dust/'stuff' gets into the pool, which it probably will, what should we do?

The pump is on and we have a sock in the skimmer.

All comments appreciated!

I'd remove the sock to avoid clogging it and losing skimmer suction. Stand by with the bug skimmer and pole to help things along.

Treated lumber no longer contains arsenic. Primarily treated wood is soaked in copper compounds. My goal would be to get it out of the pool before it sinks and backwash or clean the cartridge as soon as the filter has it gathered up.

Perfect timing, JT, the crew just got back from lunch! Thanks so much for the info. We'll try to keep it cleaned out as we go. Then will vac and backwash. Copper?....... guess if the pool turns green we'll know what it is!

Again, THANK YOU! :)
