Heres my problem i have ugly baby blue waterline tiles and they dont go with anything in my backyard. We just built our bbq island/bar and now the pool looks hideous. What goes into replacing the tiles? Do you have to replaster the pool or can you go back with plaster patch because id epoxy paint the pool to keep costs low on refinishing it.

If your plaster is in good shape it shouldn't be a problem. Most folks chip out the old tile and mastic and just replace the tile. Some of the pool techs can give better advice on how it is done. Painting the pool is not recommended. Paint is a 1-2 year band-aid until you can re-plaster.
