Rocky soil question

Hi,

We took up the grass in the area where we are going to put up our intex 15x48 metal frame pool and there are a ton of rocks mixed into the soil. Do we have to remove them all...I mean there are A LOT!!!? What is the best way to do this? Also, we are going to be using a gorilla pad under the pool. Thanks in advance for your replies!

I recommend getting them all out, it will be worth it in the long run. If that is not practical, make sure you get all of the ones that stick up significantly.

I also suggest getting them all out, but sometimes that's not possible, so then take a vibrating plate tamp (you can rent them at a big box store) and pack the sand really well once you have as many of them out as you can get.

Instead of the gorilla pad, have you thought of 2" foam board? That takes away the need to get ALL the rocks.

We have the 24ft intex pool and have tons of rocks also. We used about 3 tons of sand and it's helped a lot with the rocks. It may be worth putting a little sand down before your pad if it's in your budget.
