Compatible parts for discontinued skimmer?

I have a skimmer basket, the lid identifies it as a Jacuzzi "Model PM".

I was there when I bought the house, and never had a basket or weir door.

I've finally had it with floating junk on the surface of my pool so I'd like to get this fixed up. But I can't find parts. Apparently this model skimmer and the parts for it have been discontinued and you just can't get parts for it anymore.

(Which would make me want to never buy anything from Jacuzzi BTW .. seriously how much would it cost them to produce some more parts?)

Anyway, what I'm wondering is if there are other products that are compatible. I picked up a Haywood door from the local pool store but it was about 1/2" too narrow.

Any suggestions?

Here's a place that sells different sizes of universal skimmer weirs. Measure your's and see if one will fit.
