Howdy folks, I had a nasty green surprise last spring, so I bought a few more floaters for overwintering. Just opened the pool today - nice clear water! Free available Cl is waaay high at 8ppm, but my bromine tabs are almost all used up. So this seems like about right for next winter too. Just for info (see sig below) I used 4 small floaters and 1 big one, all full of tablets.
Now lessseeee if I remember all that good stuff I learned here last year. The pool is open now, filter running, brominator turned almost off. So I should see FAC come down pretty quickly, and Ph go down too. I was in that cycle last year. Gotsta buy another tub of baking soda.
I just love Hydrogen, it makes up 80% of the universe ... and sterilizes our pools.
