AquaVac Climbs Too High Even With Restrictor

I've noticed that the pool robotic cleaner tries too climb the wall too high even with the restrictor plate on. It gets to the top of the waterline and then a whole lot of air comes out of the unit where the propeller is. Then once it's done cleaning the top it just fals to the bottom of the pool instead of rolling back down.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions on this one? I was looking closer at the cleaner and it does have this top on it where it has the words close and open with a turn arrow. Is this the restrictor? It still wants to climb too high and when it does, it blows all this air from the top and then falls back to the floor in the pool without rolling back down the wall. A few times it almost falls backwards when on the wall.

Open to any ideas u might have.
