I posed one other question that brought another up. I was running my pump 24/7 while shocking but now that that is over, I thought I read somewhere what 4 hours was enough to maintain the pool so that is what I have been doing. I wanted to confirm this is correct though. Is 4 hours a day a good general rule? See sig for pump.
The ideal pump run time can be almost anything, different for every pool. You have a fairly large pump and a medium to small pool, so I would start out with a six hour run time and then adjust from there. See the article in Pool School on how to figure out your ideal pump run time.
Ok, I did read that in the pool school but it didn't provide any numbers or formulas to arrive at them, I will kick it up to 6 hours a day and see how things go. Thanks
