Upgrading to 2 speed pump, will this effect solar heating

I currently have a noisy single-speed Jandy SHPF1.5 and am thinking of upgrading to the D2983 from AO Smith at inyopools.com. Will this pump on low speed still have enough power to push the water up to the solar heating on my roof of a second story house?

Will I need to purchase a 2 speed switch to go with it?

Welcome to TFP!

It is very unlikely that the solar heater will work on low speed.

Some two speed motors come with a speed switch, sometimes you need to buy one.
