Concerned about the psi going up

this is our first time owning a pool and we are concerned about the psi going up
our pool is 16x32 and the depth is 52 feet,
it is an above ground pool with vinyl lining and a sand filter
the horsepower of the pump is 2hp and the psi reads 15 (the day before it read 12 psi)
this might seem like a silly question, but is the psi average, or should we backwash it again?

You should wait till it rises more than a couple of psi. I recommend you wait to backwash until it raises about 6 to 7 psi above normal (12). Or gets to about 18 or 19 psi.

Welcome to the forum!

After you backwash and rinse, what is your psi reading?

How old is the pressure gauge?

How does your water look?

Do you have test results available?

IMHO, a 3 point rise in psi in one day is not normal and indicates that you are clearing your pool of something.....
