Am I going to have to shock?

Sure enough, my LQ stopped up while I was gone for 5 days and I came home to a pool at 1ppm FC, 1ppm CC, and 40 CYA. The pool looks clear, but am I stuck with having to shock? I did increase the level tonight to a high level for my CYA level, but hoping I don't have to go through the whole process again.

I did find the culprit, it's the flow meter. I think I'm going to just remove it and adjust the flow by guess until it's keeping the FC correct.

Since FC didn't fall all the way to zero you should be alright. As long as CC is 0.5 or lower tomorrow afternoon and the water is still clear you will be alright.

The DPD test did go pink immedately, so at first I was pretty happy, but seeing it go away with just 2 drops scared me, then seeing the CC level made it even worse.

Well, it looks like I lost again. Had some green on the pool bottom and sides on the shallow end today. Darnit!
