the instructions say wait until it's below 2" or until you can't see the chlorine bed. Is it a strict thing to have to wait until it is below 2"? I'm about to leave for a week vacation and I want the liquidator to have plenty of bleach in it during my trip. The person staying at my house while I'm out will not know how to do anything but empty the skimmer.

You can refill it at any time. In fact you want to refill it when there's still about 2 gallons in it.
