My pool filiter is a sand filiter. But the guy that I bought the home from say the pool company put DE in there. So I quess I have to take off all those screws and take a look. Not looking foward to that. filix.

I was worried the first time I took mine apart, but it was easier then I thought.

Adding a little DE to a sand filer is a fairly standard thing. The DE backwashes out each time you backwash. Checking inside the sand filter is a good thing to do every couple of years, but it is unusually to actually discover a problem.
