Acrylic steps "scum" line stain

Hi all,

I have white acrylic steps that have a black stain near the water "scum" line. I have tried using bleach and it does not seem to do anything to remove the stain. There are no stains anywhere on the liner, just the steps.

What other cleaners do you recommend that I can use, that are safe for the water in the pool?

I use a Magic Eraser on all my plastics. They work well and whatever crumbles off of them will be picked up by the filter.
