Fill water testing?

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a testing lab that can test for mineral levels, etc. in water from private water wells, most of the services I find online seem to offer pass fail tests that are mainly targeted at ground water contamination.

What specific chemicals do you want the water tested for, and at what level of accuracy, precision and resolution?

You could call a local realtor and ask who they work with. In my state, when a house with a private well is sold, the well has to be tested for a number of compounds.

We have a somewhat problematic well (sulfur vein, common in these parts) and had it tested privately by Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA. They sent us sampling bottles and instructions, we mailed the samples back, and we received a very comprehensive analysis in due time.

Thanks for the replies, I will ask around a bit more, I unfortunately for this purpose live in an area with overall "good" well water, so testing seems to be less common.
