What is this? Wrinkly discolored area in liner

Good morning,

DH and I are potentially looking at a new house with an in ground pool. I'm going on my third summer with an AG 15 x 30 pool so I'm feeling pretty confident that I can handle this in ground with the BBB method, it hasn't failed me yet so far! ;)

The pool is a typical 20x40 liner pool, 3 ft on the shallow, 8 ft or so on the deep end, the typical pool you will find at most houses. The water is nice and clear and they have the pump running 24/7 right now (the house is already empty) and everything looks like it is in decent condition but I saw a weird stain in the liner.

Attached is an image. Its a slightly discolored section and the liner is very wrinkly there, any idea what it is?

(The darker blue spots are just a shadow from a tree, it was about 8 in the morning when I was out there taking pictures. The spot is in the center of the image)

Just a guess, but possibly someplace chemicals have been dumped in and rested on the bottom. Is it at the bottom of the sloped wall?

No this is the shallow three foot section. If we decide to do a proper walk through I will have to inspect it more carefully and ask about it. Will try to get better pics too! I think that might be a good guess, maybe they had powdered bleach or something there and let it sit too long.
