Neighbours have a hot tub ....

Our neighbours just got a hot tub. Can anyone give some insite as to how to and what chemicals are needed? What readings we should be looking for and what to test for in the water. I have a TF test kit can we use that to test with or do we need to be looking at something else? :? :? Not sure of size or gallons. Where would we find that or how do we measure the amout of gallons :?: :?:

Start by reading the sticky for spas/hot tubs.

If the manufacturer doesn't list the size, you can usually figure out gallons by watching the water meter when you fill the spa/tub.

If they are using bromine, the FAS-DPD chlorine test won't work with bromine unless you get some R-0872 (used instead of R-0871). But you can use the simpler OTO test for bromine.
