Liquid Chlorine
I'm in the second day of clearing pool of algae. The weather this year turned warn quickly and I was caught behind with opening. I had quite an angle bloom but the chlorine is taking care of that. I have a cya of 30 and the chart shows 15 for shock. The liquidator was holding this morning at a level of 18. Valve supplied with liquidator wide open. I have the 3/8" upgrade but my control valve went south last season. I'm not using the ball gauge, depending on test kit for readings and will adjust after pool is clear.
I still have oak and popular blooms falling(not a massive amount like last week!). Would it be ok to shut the skimmer off while I am at work monday and draw only from the main drain??? I have no one at home and dont want the skimmer to clog and lead to pump losing prime and burning up while I'm gone. I know the pump needs to run 24/7 until pool is cleared up.
