In-line filters?

Hi all-

Have a Polaris pressure-side sweep, and the mesh filter in the wall fitting seems to clog up pretty easily. I know I'm getting some blow-by through the filter, but I'm hesitant to replace the cartridges until I get the worst of the winter Crud out of the pool. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a filter I can splice either into the sweep hose or into the inlet hose for the booster pump? I'd like to find something that doesn't clog up quite as fast as the tiny mesh thimble in the wall fitting.
