Big pump

Wish I had found this place before I bought/installed a new pool.

I have a 15X30 oval, 4 ft deep (approx 14000 gal) AGP.

It has a 300# sand filter, and a 2HP, 2-speed motor/pump. From what I am reading, I should run the pump on low for filtering, and maybe high for vacuuming?

Pool store told me the pump flow rate was 45-55 gal/minute, does that sound reasonable?

I will have other questions after I do more research on SWG. :-D

45-55 gpm doesn't sound like a 2hp pump but without knowing the specs it's hard to say. If you could post a pic of the data plate we could tell more. I actually saw a 2 hp pump that had a .9 service factor.

Running it on low almost all the time is a good idea.
