I am new at this pool thing and also enjoyed our pool from our new house last summer. This winter the pool has become brown and filled with murky water, leaves and some trash. What do I need to do to get it ready for go for summer use again? It is an above ground pool and the filter and pump have been outside all winter.

The first thing you need to do is make sure the equipment will work and isn't leaking.
Then you need to scoop as much of the debris out as possible.
