Lighting Help!

I'm in the process of having my pool liner changed out and was considering changing to LED lighting. My existing light is a Fiberstar fiber optic system that is not working. My concern is it seems like the niche for the fiber optic system is a small niche and all of the pool LED's require a large niche. Does anyone have any experience with this?? Can I change a niche with the pool empty?

Not sure about compatibility with Fiberstars niches but Next Step makes LED fixtures for small fiber optic retro fits. In fact I think they just made their fixtures even smaller.
