Solar panel size vs usability

Hi guys,
I have the option of placing solar panels on our small pool house. The useable roof surface area is approximately 80 square feet. The pool is a kidney 34x16. I realize it will not supply enough heat to be the primary source. I have a solar blanket and a heat pump. The question is; Would the panels be efficient enough to take the edge off the cold? Or is it worth the time/expense involved with such a small area?
The roof gets about 6-7 hrs direct sun a day.
Our house is 200 feet from the pool.
I don't want to surface mount the panels.
Thanks

It sounds like you are talking panels somewhere around 15-20% the surface area of the pool. That will have some effect, enough that you will notice it, but not enough to extend the season very much. If the pool house is in the same place as, or relatively close to, the equipment pad, I would go for it.
