Could I save the Liner?

Well, I looked out at the pool the other day and wondered why the water line is so low.. Well, the liner blew.. Just below the water inlet, about an inch down, a big tear approx 8" wide or maybe wider by 6". Liner is approx 2 years old.. Could I patch that big of a hole??? Draining a 27' round pool and buying new water is a ouchie.. Also do you think Insurance covers that???

Rarely and not worth filing a claim on your homeowners IMO (future rate hike), unless you have a really low deductible.

Maybe try to patch? Something on the side that far up vs the bottom at the cove maybe is better. Boxer glue and a patch - go for it.
