Salt 3200 took care of that a few weeks ago
Total Alkalinity 100
Cyanuric Acid was low below 30
PH 7.8 a little high
Total Chlorine .5-1
Hardness. Test didn't turn red to start??? What does that mean and turned blue for a 190 count.

Just started using the ideas on here towards the end of last summer.

S310T2 Hayward Sand Filter and Hayward pump. Not sure the exact gallons over 25k. 16x24x42 L shaped with 8ft deep end.

How often does sand level in filter need to be checked?

Thoughts on getting the levels perfect would be appreciated.

If your water is warm enough for the SWG to work then you should go ahead and raise the CYA up to 60-70 ppm. If not then leave the CYA where it is and use The Pool Calculator
to determine how much chlorine you need. You want to keep the FC at the top of the recommended level to keep you from riding the ragged edge of an algae bloom.

Unless you know the filter has been losing sand the levels should be fine. If it has not been filtering like it should then you can open it up and check for channeling.

SWG has been working. Water is upper 50's. Picked up some stuff this morning to raise the CYA. Still have to check the FC.

Only sand loss is from back flushing. I was curious the average life span with normal cleaning and back flushing? Average maybe once a month. Filter is on its 3rd year
