20 or 25 gauge

Make sure you are comparing those numbers to the same manufacturer's product. My understanding is that "gauge" is just a made up measurement that can mean anything the manufacturer wants it to mean.

An actual measurement of thickness is mils.

To be comparing apples to apples you need to be looking at a single manufacturer and maybe even, a single line of product they offer.
